In this egg I will be teaching you how to make a simple .mp3 song to a .MIDI ringtone. I wanna say sorry to all the people who do not have a data cable for your cell phone, I suggest you go buy one from verizon, alltel, etc.
You will need
1.A song
2.Goldwave
3.A data cable
Instructions
Step One
If you do not have Goldwave download it here.
Goldwave
Goldwave is an audio editing program. This is the trial version of the program and you do not need the full version for this to work.
Step Two
Now that Goldwave is downloaded and installed onto your computer find a song you want. I decided to use the song "Gotta Eat" by Flo Rida. Add the song to your desktop.
Step Three
Open up Goldwave and add in the song by clicking
open>desktop> your song. A bunch of wave lengths should show up.
Step Four
Play the song by press the yellow play button up in the left hand corner. Find where you would like your ringtone to start and finish.
Step Five
Right click on the selected part of your song and click copy. Then right click again and select all.
Delete all of the song.
Step Six
Go up to edit> paste at> beginning
Your song clip should show up. Play it again to make sure its what you want.
Step Seven
Go to File> save as, then a pop up should be showing. at the end of your song make sure it says .MIDI. then save it.
Step Eight
Plus your data cable into your computer and cell phone. Go to my computer> and your cell phone folder.
open up sounds and paste it into your sound folder.
Step Nine
Now you have the sound on your cell phone, all you have to do is send it to yourself and save it as a ringtone.
Please rate fair, I did take some time to bring this to you, and it works. These ringtones do sound great, just as if you were to buy it.
Listen for yourself.

 | Mar 06, 2008 4:45 am - This egg is alright, so I’m going to vote it a 3*
Just because I think the process you did takes way to long, From reading it. My egg on how to make/get ringtones for free works way better then your technique. Also, You don’t need a data cable for every phone to get the ringtones to it. All you need is a MicroSD card, Like what you’ve used.
Also, I’d like to point out that we have the same Firefox theme. But I’m being forced to use Opera, because Firefox has been giving me problems with loading websites lately. |
