Allright, ive attempted to make a few eggs in the past month but the first 2 didnt submit correctly and my last one was somehow deleted possibly for drug reasons.

Im sorry i dont have my own pictures, my cell phone wants to charge $0.25 every time i upload a picture and thats $441 more than i have.

About a year ago, i built a police strobe for my car just to screw around with and scare the hell outta some of my friends or spook dickhead drivers. It has adjustable strobe speeds and i can change the color of the lights within the box. It cost me about $100 to build 2 "undercover" smoked police strobes that were concealed in a lower valance of my front bumper.

Most Police strobe kits bought on ebay absolutely suck. The bulbs burn out left and right, they arent bright at all, they have big bulky ballasts that are difficult to hide and arent waterproof and the strobes dont flicker at a very fast rate.

Understanding police lights:
Exposed Police Lights generally consist of multiple lenses with reflectors within. Each light will have 1 or more blue light and 1 or more white light.

Hidden Police Lights (undercover lights, dash lights or behind grille lights) will have a smoked appearance due to a combination of reflectors and refractors along with a black interior to the box. They will also have 1 or more blue light within each lense and 1 or more white light.

For a hidden light which just looks like a black box or a smoked foglight, you will want to buy a cheap foglight from Autozone. It should be something black and not a big gay crystal chrome box with diamond studs all over it.

Something like this is great:

Although the lense on that foglight is crystal, removing/modifying the internal reflector will make less outside light reflect off the inside reflector back out through the front lense thus giving it a "smoked" or "tinted look". Much like european "e-code" smoked headlights look. (DOT approved).

What you need:
-Foglight setup
-2 Headlight Strobe Setup kits(wiring, bulbs, ballast, harness)
-Hot Glue
-Switch
-Silicone Glue
-Brackets and Screws

The Headlight Strobe box will cost $10-$20 and you will need 2 of them. The more the better, but i reccomend 2 or more. For my car, i used 4 of them and had 4 individual ballasts running at different strobe speeds. One ballast box will usually be for 2 bulbs (1 white, 1 blue). I used 2 foglights and had 2 blue bulbs and 2 white bulbs in each box.

Take the front lense off the headlight by separating the silicone glue or pushing in the tabs to remove the lense. Look inside and take note of how the reflector is located within. Remove the original bulb and wiring harness and look at the back side of the box. Mark out the holes that you wish to drill out or cut out of the plastic to mount the new bulbs. The strobe bulbs will have silicone gel caps on them to protect them from moisture and will have a silicone water-tight plug that just pushes into the pre-drilled hole and seals tight. I prefer to drill 4 holes in a row on the back of the foglight box after removing the reflector inside. I bore out the holes so that the strobe bulbs will fit perfectly inside. I then take the reflector that i previously removed and re-cut the holes on it so that it fits around the 4 bulbs. I trim the reflector so that the excess chrome doesnt reflect off unnecessary light.

Im sure to keep the silicone gel caps on the bulbs because these bulbs WILL blow out if in contact with moisture while being used. Re-install the lense with the plastic clips or screws or if it is a pull-off lense than reapply silicone glue onto the lense and press it on with firm pressure. Silicone glue will dry in under 15 minutes.

The wiring is as follows:
12V+ to 12V+ terminal of battery with a switch somewhere in the line, 12V- ground to 12V- terminal or to a grounded piece of chassis metal.

Install the light somewhere inconspicuous and use a firm bracket that wont shake it around and smash up the lense. Sealing everything possible with silicone glue helps alot.

In-Car hidden Strobe:

Reflector Strobe (non smoked) obvious strobe

I hope this helps some people. I need to take pictures of the setup i built. Its pretty sweet.

haha, i had some kid call me an automotive/mechanical/ele trical "genius" today after i ripped out his engine computer, tore it apart, soldered in 3 capacitors, a resistor and a heat sink so that his motor would run smoother and it wouldnt backfire, overfuel and blow out the catalytic converter every time he hit the rev limiter.

Nice egg but don’t do it. Flashing a blue strobe is impersonating a police officer. Better have five grand and a year to spend in jail. You will also need five grand to pay the guy you flashed because he can sue you. Don’t expect the police to knock nice either.

If you flash red, you are impersonating an emergency vehicle. Think fire, ambulance, ect. They don’t like it much.

If you do this, stick with white and have a good lawyer around. Hide or remove plates.

i really only used it for when i pull into the beach parkinglot where all my friends like to party and drink during the summer. I just pull up slow and wait for some kid to take out a 30-rack, i flash the lights quick and blast into the parkinglot and watch them all scurry around. Its funny as hell.

very cool(5*s BTW:) but very illegal.Don’t get caught by the real cops with the device on your vehicle. Try explaining that one to your local judge. :%

this is good if your not a firefighter and you would like to get a huge fucking fine. besides, firefighters are only allowed to use blue lights in their personal vehicles.

at this point, i think i know the police’s secret knock. Ive been pulled over 19 times and my speeding ticket total has summed up to $2270. My tickets for other moving violations sum up to $680. Ive been arrested 5 times and put in temporary holding cells 4 times. But yeah, if you have $200, you can build a CRAZY police lightbox. Im thinkin about building a really powerful compact one from a rectangular Hella smoked foglight. Im gonna rip out the entire inside of the box, use 20 individual half-dome scatter reflectors with 10 strobe kits wired in series. Wire it up to a good strong capacitor and 4AWG silicone wiring and scare the shit outta my friends.
