If you are new to internet forums you will just use
avatars you find on abatar sites, but after a while
you will find the Paper Mario and Peach 1UP or the
guy slammin his head on the computer boring and
try to make your own avatars.

Making your own animated avatars is easier than most
people think, just follow the seven easy steps.

Software needed:
A picture editing program, Paint should do the job.
A filetype converter, Mihov Image Resizer for example.
An GIF editor. You can use Ulead GIF Animator.

Links are not necessary, you can google it.

Step 1:
Get the pictures you want to use. You can download or
draw them. It does not matter where you get them.

I drew the 15 pictures I will use in this guide
on paper and scanned them.

Step 2:
Open the pictures with your picture editor
and cut them to a sqare shape.

Step 3:
Convert your pictures to GIF format with the Mihov
Image Resizer. It is easy to use, so I will not
describe it here.
If they are already GIFs you can skip this step

Step 4:
Resize the images to the size you need. Many avatars
are 80x80, others 50x50, check the site where you
want to post them.

Step 5:
The resizing might blur your images. Use the picture
editor to fix them.

Step 6:
Open your GIF editor. Most editors allow you to drag
and drop the images.
Most of them are easy to use, and have help files.

Once you added all the images you might want set the
time how long the images are shown.

Each image of Splatavatar is shown 0,2 secounds.

While the first of Selfeat Avatar is shown 5 secounds
and the others 1 secound.

Step 7:
Upload your avatar.
Most sites allow you to upload it from your harddisk,
but sometimes you have to upload it to another site
like imageshack or rotteneggs an link it.

Why is it "horrible"? It isn’t pretty but it isn’t bad either. 3*

that was a mediocre effort for an avatar egg. Trust me, I would know.

Could have been better... Needs more info. Frame rates, image quality issues, video clips, etc...
