Please pardon my lack of pictures as I don’t want to get a program to take screenshots for such an easy joke.
This is a really easy really simple prank. I have uploaded a zipped version with all of the information need to complete this prank Here you are welcome to download it and quit reading now if you would like. The instructions are in the folder.
But here is a basic explanation, first you build the shortcut mention in the other egg, and make it look like a legitimate file. and then you put it into the start up folder.
If you choose to download my file however, I have placed in it some crappy icons to attempt to help you as well as one blank one that will allow you to hide other such articles.
When I made this I labeled my short cut "(Empty)" gave it the blank icon and placed it into the startup folder, I think that you are getting the drift and that I am rambling... Happy pranking one and all.
May 11, 2008 1:35 am - thanks... I never had need to know prior to now. And I was only aware of programs because of hearing others use them. I usually prefer not to use them anyway. With dial up its worthless.
May 11, 2008 4:51 am - back in the day when my school used windows 98, me and a friend went around and edited all the autoexec.bat files to loop "The Matrix Has you".
soo they never would load the OS, just stuck on a screen full of matrix has you’s. any way the stupid tech people didn’t know what to do. we got new compputers w/ XP the next month :D
May 11, 2008 4:59 am - I made these shortcuts and use them to actually shut down the computer, it’s easier than using the start menu.
I have one to shutdown, one to restart, one to logoff, and one to switch users.
It’s way faster to have shortcuts than to do it the old way.
May 12, 2008 12:16 am - all it does is shut down the computer when they start it. there is an icon and a short de5cription that make it look almost exactly like an empty start up folder in the start menu.
May 13, 2008 3:34 am - When I was in school a fiend of mine and I went around and put into the auto correct strange strings of words to replace commonly used ones, on a couple of computers we just had it replace words with synonyms for lot of words. We had great fun, when they called the tech guy he kept looking way to freaking deep to solve the problem and he couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
finally got off my as and took a picture of what the difference between a normal startup folder and my infected one is. (the only reason I did this, is because with Vista one can put hidden files in the startup and have them activate... And I honestly can’t remember if that worked on prior OS’s)
May 20, 2008 10:06 am - wow I’m retarded... I was totally thinking instant messenger there... yeah, I have to pay for my own internet and it only cost 9.95$ a month. I use firefox for browsing.
