This is a cool little trick that has been found on Windows (I’m not sure if it works on Mac) that I’m sure many of you know about, but I thought that it would be good to have it written down on here.
Basically there is a version of the original Star Wars on your computer, all you need to do is find it!
First, click the Start button on the bottom of your screen and find the Run application.
Now, in the text box in the Run application type telnet, then press enter.
After that a command promp-like box should pop up.
Now, type in the letter o, and press enter.
After that the box will say ( to ). Then type in towel.blinkenlights.nl, and press enter.
Tah Dah!!! Star Wars, wow those geeks have a lot of time on their hands. Here’s a screenshot from the beginning.
Have fun you guys! |

 | May 30, 2008 3:34 pm - lol wut? you steal from the gimp? |

 | May 30, 2008 5:41 pm - Shit, Gimp had this??? Didn’t even look, my bad to all. |

 | May 30, 2008 5:51 pm - I don’t think Gimp made an egg on it, but it would be pointless. This trick is pretty old and I’m pretty sure there’s an egg on this already. |

 | May 30, 2008 5:54 pm - I put it in a forum topic earlier in the week:
http://www.rotteneg s.com/r3/show/se/700-forum display_topic-0-1-5957152. tml
However, you did a very good job explaining it with screen shots. Good job. Five stars. |

 | May 30, 2008 6:26 pm - I didn’t know about this (and I’m not sure I needed to) but it is a quality egg. If Gimps ok with you using his idea than its ok by me.
It was a quality egg and was well explained so 4* |

 | May 30, 2008 6:39 pm - Gimp said this in a forum post, 3* |

 | May 30, 2008 8:04 pm - Thanks, lol |

 | May 31, 2008 1:27 am - nice, simple egg. Don’t mind hooded alchemist, he thinks he has an ego to stoke. |

 | May 31, 2008 1:37 am - I just realised what this is! It’s not an easter egg or anything. It’s just getting the text from the address you type in, which happens to be the ASCII version of star wars that this guy from newzealand made. I think the website where he hosts the online versions is http://www.asciimator.co. z/ |

 | May 31, 2008 1:42 am - sorry, its actually http://www.asciimation.co nz/ |

 | May 31, 2008 5:04 am - wow old news gets high ratings, meh, i won’t piss anyone off so 4* |

 | May 31, 2008 8:41 am - That’s sweet, thanks Kuso! |

 | May 31, 2008 9:06 am - I’ve known about this for awhile but you still explained it well. 5* |

 | May 31, 2008 9:11 am - Fuck if I had known that Gimp wouldn’t mind someone putting that little trick in an egg, I would have done it.
Well since Gimp doesn’t mind, 5* for you because you did a great job explaining and using lots of screenshots. |

 | Ma 31, 2008 9:28 am - Yeah, i just figured out how to make screenshots yesterday, so I just did a bunch. |
