All you guys out there that play paintball aren’t really noobs. You understand basic ideas like wearing proper clothing. I thought I’d try and give some new guys out there some tips. And i’ve designed a flash hider for your gun so people in the woods cant see your stream of Co2 in the shade. "Flash" does make a difference in woodsball for me because its shaded and im constantly looking after a shot is fired to see where it came from.

Clothing: Pick something heavy, like a large hoodie. This way, it has a chance of being slightly circulated and not as hot depending on the weather. I would also recomend black clothing. Camo is cool, but you dont need it, black can be just as hard to spot sometimes. You should also wear longpants to avoid mosquitos and poison ivy and such. Using loose rubber bands to close up edges on pants and sleeves is a good idea. I would definitely wear cloth gloves too (dollar ones at the hardware store). I got so bit up that i literally looked diseased. You should also wear tube socks or something that will cover your knees. I was kneeling in mud and got wet. The mosquitos also bit the shit out of my knees thru denim jeans. Boots are good for running around in the woods when playing paintball, you never know what terrain you’ll come across.

Head gear: This isn’t like airsoft with five dollar guns from walmart. And the mosquitos and bugs will drive you crazy. To avoid the bugs that zzziiiiiip to your ears (it actually sounded like a nascar race last time I played) stick a Little bit of tissue in you ears (earplugs might do too much). This way you can still hear twigs breaking from footsteps. Anyways, I 100% recommend using masks, not just goggles or glasses. Full head masks that cover the back of your head aren’t as important as it seems, they’re harder to wipe the fog away when it matters. Just get some cheap, regular masks and pull up your hood, put on a baseball hat, and slip on your mask. Voila just as nice as full coverage masks and more manueverability.

Playing: Scrunch up. You dont need a lot of space to be steady with a paintball gun, so squeeze your arms an shoulders together and use your gun as a shield too. If you need to load in the middle of a firefight, just lay down and crawl a few yards. Or if somebody is available have them cover you.

Equipment: Don’t settle for that one hundred dollar stryker brand or brass eagle paintball gun at walmart. If you wanna cheap marker you can get a name brand spyder victor II at dunhams for 70 bucks. for one hundred dollars you can get a tippmann Alpha Black at dicks(it looks like an m16). If you seriously want to look into paintball go to pbreview.com for product reviews. You can probably find 2000 paintballs at Dick’s sporting goods for 30 bucks (i just got some). DSG also has the best prices on co2 and hpa besides actual paintball arenas and stores. Get your co2 tanks from walmart though. Have fun.

----------------Flash Hider-----------------

I was playing woodsball last wednesday when i discovered that my paintball gun would have about a foot long stream of co2 when shooting in the shade. not wanting to be seen by opposing players i developed a flash hider that is cheap and disposable. If you like scenario and speed ball, you can just rip off the flash hider after playing woodsball.

Materials:
Scissors

Paper towel tube

Electical tape

Thats It!

Steps:
1. Cut four evenly spaced slits about one third down the tube.

2. Now cut a shape like a pencil on those spots so you can form fit it to you barrel.

3. It sounds confusing, but fold the four pieces out and back in again. At the top of the little trapezoid shape fold it out a little so it looks like a baseball bat. (bare with me on this, look at the pic for help). Tape skinnier part of the tube to your barrel.

You’re all done. I would ad a video, but the Co2 wouldn’t show up on my camera.

Nice, 5* because paintball rocks.
For woodsball though(day), wear very dark green.
For night in woodsball wear dark grey
for night in paintball involving plain open fields, or buildings, use navy blue.
