Heres the original egg
http://www.rotteneggs.com/r3/show/se/135693.html
This really does just restrict air and in no way supercharge it, so heres an egg for any one who wants a suped up lawnmower or go-kart or w/ever you got.
What you need is:
-Ducted fan(you can get em at hobby stores for planes)
-(optional)Dry ice
-Screen,(like in your window)
-9-volt battery and connector
-Possibly Pvc pipe(well get to that later)
-Some Engine knowledge!
First off remover the air filter from the carburetor on your engine, now you should have something like this
(Depending on what kind of engine your working on this is a horizontal lawn mower)
Next take the ducted fan and figure out which end pushes air in and put that inside the carb about a 1/2 inch in you can glue it if it isnt snug.
If it doesnt fit get a piece of pvc pipe that does fit the ducted fan and convert it to fit the carb now run the wires from the fan to your 9 volt(i dont suggest any bigger batteries, but you can try)
tape or secure your battery somewhere it wont come loose.
Ok that was the hard part, now cut and place a piece of screen over the top of the ducted fan to protect the engine from debris.
Turn your mixture needle about 1/4 to 1/8 turn counter-clockwise to richen the fuel mixture to keep up with the extra air
That’s it, your lawn mower or go kart should have a moderate increase in power.
P.s
For extra power..and fun put a piece of dry ice on top of the screen, now your have cold air induction, and once again slightly richen your fuel, this gave me a huge amount in power...(don’t worry dry ice doesn’t melt into water just air)
Aug 07, 2008 7:42 pm - I guess the slow rate that the dry ice gives off CO2 vs the fast rate of airflow through the carburettor offsets the extra CO2 by making the incoming air denser...

To dodge:
yeah i guess if you used too big a piece of dry ice it might block the air off and lose its oxidation, i guess it’ll just shut off without oxygen if it comes to it.
Aug 08, 2008 12:29 pm - yeah i thought about that and was gonna make an actual mini turbo charger but then all i got was a lot of exhaust sucked into my mower..good idea though
Aug 10, 2008 9:44 pm - *4 Good plan but it won’t do much for HP because the motor will not flow good enough for the added forced air. See the ports and carb do not flow to well because when they are made the castings are not cleaned so there are sharp edges in the ports that KILL air flow.
And for the dry ice it is plain out stupid. All dry ice is made of is CARBON DIOXIDE! So when the dry ice turns into a gas it is sucked into the motor and is mixed in with the air and gas, and when they get into the cylinder and the gas ignites, the carbon dioxide smothers the flame and kills HP.
Aug 11, 2008 9:14 pm - fuck yeah thats awesome haha, i dont plan on moddin my lawn mower anytime soon but when i do i will come back to this egg lol, 5*’s
Aug 13, 2008 1:47 am - Perfect timing. I’m having a scrap metal go-cart race soon, and i only have a 4 horsepower motor and some octane boosters. This will deffinately be put to work. 5*
