The Intelligent Desktop (Very Basic Version)

This is my desktop...


I like this desktop
Because Ive made it "Intelligent"

And no, I don’t mean it’ll do all this awesome shit
It’ll do everything I need it to do...

Look...

It has three icons above the time.
One restarts the computer
One logs me off
And one shuts the computer down

I know this sounds lazy but it does save time

Ill show you how to make them...
Ill start with the shutdown one.

Right Click your desktop
Click New
Click Shortcut

And enter into the location

%windir%\\system32\\shutdown.exe -s -t 00

Then call it whatever you want

To make a Log Off or a Restart one

Replace %windir%\\system32\\shutdown.exe -s -t 00
With...

Restart
%windir%\\system32\\shutdown.exe -r

Log Off
C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\logoff.exe

:D

Now...

Also my "Internettz" button works...
It logs me on to the internet with a double click

All you do is...
Go to Start>Control Panel>Network Connections

Then right-click the internet connection you use...
And click

Create Shortcut
Press Yes...
And Bam!

Its on the desktop

Obviously everything else on my desktop are things I use every day...

Except weirdly...
For Windows Media Player...

Its a new pc

Youve never heard of shortcut keys have you. To shut down your computer all you hvae to do is push the windows key, then u, than enter. really not that bad. but 4* for this idea.

I dont care what other people on this site who know a computer backwards and forwards, im givin this a 5* cause i would never know how to get those buttons out there.
