Alright here is a very simple and effective way to start your seeds. This method greatly decreases the time it takes for the plant to sprout.

The seeds I use in the example are Moringa Oleifera.

Items needed:
Cardboard Egg Carton
Dirt
Water
Knife/Scissors

First take a cup of water and let your seeds soak in there for 24 hours (or at least over night).

Now Get your egg carton and cut the top part off.

With your sharp tool of choice, put a slit in the bottom of however many shells you need to accommodate the number of seeds you plan to plant.

Now set the shell part inside of the top you just cut off.

Add a very little bit of dirt.

Place your seeds where you want them (you can fill the entire carton, or disperse them however you want). Then cover them with dirt and water them. Don’t pack to tightly.

Watch these carefully. Keep the soil damp, but not saturated. Water once a day at minimum. If you are having trouble keeping moisture, try putting a plastic bag over top of the carton. Try and keep it in a warmer environment if you can. If you have a window sill that will receive a good amount of morning and afternoon sun, that will be perfect.

Sprout time will depend on the plant mostly so do your research. It only took about a week for the moringa:

Carefully transplant it and you are all set!
Moringa a week after transplant:

Happy Growing!

thanks for the votes.
it has to be the paper/carboard type. it lets the excess water spread out. also when you are transplanting you can just cut the shell out and put it right into your dirt and it will decompose(or at least break up enough to let the roots through).

Or fold a paper towel in half saturate it in water add 10-20 "legal" seeds, fold in half again with seeds in the middle, now press on the folder paper towel to remove the extra water. Place in a dark unventilated area, your seeds will sprout in 2-3day tops. EXTRA TIP- water your plants (saplings and growing plants)with this mix... mix 1gal of water with 2 birth control pills (estrogen) This will help your plants be female, and will grow faster, and better. Oh remember water ever other day or so, this one gallon will last you awhile.
