Fta Sattelite Pc Style.

This guide is on how to install free to air sattelite on your Pc.


Materials
Sattelite dish (bell/direct tv)
-Dvb-s Card-
-emunation software-
-Dvbdream software-
-klite codecs-
-Patience-
-free pci port-


1.Dvb-s Card
I would reccomend a Digistar Dvb-s card. I got mine off of e-bay
set it up with the cd,install the drives,but dont set it up with the included software,

NOTE:I’m assuming that you have a set up sattelite dish in your house already


2. Dvbdream software

Download Dvb dream from this website http://dvbdream.org/
the newest version is at the bottom of the page. Download that and install.
Just remember where the root of it is. (default is at c)

3. Emunation software

Go here. Note:registration is required

go to the emunation thread,and download the latest one. Now that you have that, You have to go to your c drive where the dvb dream files are located.


Then Go to plugins. There will be a number of folders called PIP##

Drag all the files from the Emunation folder into PIP00

4.hooking it all up

a)plug in the coaxil that should go into the back of your sattelite into your dvb-s card.

b)Open up DvbDream and go to OPTIONS THEN DISEQC.

Go to NEW SATTELITE, then add the following.

For Bell. 90.9 DegreesW-NIMIQ 1 The rest are under there. Im using bell for this one



Then do a quick scan




Channels should start coming up.


5. Now for sound

Download the K-lite Codec Pack. from here

install those as normal. go to dvbdream and open up OPTIONS>VIDEO and change Video codec and Audio Codec. to FFDShow.

good egg 5* except that you can’t get very many channels unless you are in or near a big city. the only channels I get with this is CBC and AChannel( I live about an hour from toronto) but I think this could be very helpful to someone closer to a large city.

This is actually for free to air satellite. If you used the setup for bell I did,you get all the bell channels for free.
