Ever wanted you own forum? Well i will release a series of eggs on how to do so.
part 1 is just building the forum. part 2 will be styles and 3 will be installing Modifications.
I am assuming you have a WebHost and FTP Knowledge.
First Create A Database
to do so go to your servers cPanel and search SQL click DataBase wizard
.
Type in a DataBase Name, it could be whatever you want (remeber everything is case sensitive!)
Next Enter a username and password then click next.
Then Select all privileges
and click ok
Done!
Upload phpBB3
Go To phpbb.com and download phpBB3
Then Using FTP create a new folder on your root directory
Drag al the files you downloaded into the folder you created on your server.
Then Go To Your Sites address (when done uploading) for me it would be modmy3g.com/Rotteneggs
Click Install
Scroll Down
Scroll Down
Then Fill out your desired info
Click Log-In
Then Your in your ACP!(admin control panel)
Then Go Back to FTP and delete the folder labled "Install"
Then Go back and hit "Board Index"
Then your in Your Forum!!
Next One will be about styles! |

Also, who gives a fuck about page stretch. On something like this, you should be able to clearly see everything in the screenshot. |

 | Dec 22, 2008 5:53 am - My honest opinion? phpBB is shit, complete shit. It’s what led me to write my own forum system.
This isn’t "building a forum", this is "Installing a forum"
There’ a 30,000 line difference. |

 | Dec 22, 2008 9:26 am - Don’t make a separate egg for the themes(styles) and the modifications, just make a second part with both of these.
This is egg okay, nothing special. |

 | Dec 23, 2008 9:16 pm - You told me how to install phpBB! Thats not building a forum. And phpBB has instructions on their site. 0* |

 | Dec 24, 2008 7:41 pm - phpBB is simple, point and click.
No need for a write up, 3* for the effort |

 | Dec 29, 2008 10:57 am - great job well explained nice pictures. but macs suck | |
