Go off Lewis Truner Blvd. and turn onto Ranger Road. Go about 5 miles until you hit a curve to the left. Go straight, and you will hit a VERY large hill that you can take out if you have a large truck. Go down about 100 ft and try not to get stuck in the sand. There you will hit a jet engine that is scrapped. If you continue forward, you will hit an abandoned air strip that is seldom used. If you go right for about half a mile, you will hit many old, shot up tanks from WWI, WWII, Korean, Vietnam, and Gulf War. There is also a Coast Guard helicopter that is chopped in half. There are two tanks that are still operational. There is also a fenced in area that contains a radioactive shed (Thats where I got arrested). If you continue past the brown shed, you will find a much larger hangar. A barb wire fence surrounds the hangar, but you can squeeze through the gate. There is a generator that fills the entire hangar, littered with various goods. This is as far as I got. If you are ever in the area, goto Jackson Guard and obtain a permit, which gives you a map of Eglin AFB from Destin to Pensacola. It markes off where the UXO’s (Unexploded Ordinances) are. It shows two or three other air strips that are unoperational... I think. Also rumored to have underground tunnels around the reservation. Around the area is where they trained for the invasion of Panama, and has a makeshift mansion to train for hostage rescue.
