Know what Acetylene gas is? What it is used for? Well if you don’t, learn! Acetylene gas is a high temp welding gas(also highly explosive). It can be formed in many ways. One simple and easy way to make Acetylene is to find or purchase Calcium Carbide chunks, they look like greyish stones. When Calcium Carbide is placed in water it bubbles like vinager and baking soda. The bubbles are pure Acetylene gas.
When the CaC is placed in a crushed plastic bottle and water is added, close the cap(a twist cap is recomended) and stand back. If you put enough CaC in the bottle it will fill with gas to be used as you like. If you put to much CaC in the bottle it will explode and may fireball due to pressure release on the Acetylene(worse idea to try).
Use your gas as you like. Try it as a propellent in a potato gun.
Do not go near with ANY source of flame heat or spark unless you want to get a close look at a welders torch light! Only ignite when ready and safe or when you want it to react(in a manner you might not expect!)
