It came to my attention that ya’ll just don’t know how to make a good potato gun. There are 2 types of potato guns-combustion uses flammable gasses & chemicals to launch a potato to about 500 feet the MOST.-pneumatic air pressure to propel a potato, for the big ones about half a mile the MOST.
I usually make combustions because they’re easier, cheaper, & more portable than pneumatics.
guns are made of steel & can take a whole lot more #*@! than pvc & abs pipes can.
My 1 & only propellant is ether(starting fluid) which is very powerful & efficient.
L for the "Better more effective potato gun" egg, it shows you to build one with pvc pipe, just repeat the same instructions exept make it with the same size metal pipes & weld it all together exept the screw cap, I know they have them in many places. I would usually prefer a 1.5" barrel but it’s up to you.
I’ve killed 3 dogs with this gun.
They were a german sheperd, a rocweiler(I don’t know how to spell that), & a doverman pincher but I didn’t just use potatoes, I also used hard solid rocks with wadding.
Rem to put a sling on due to this gun being pretty heavy.
