It’s official: Greengate Mall in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, opened in 1965, empty since 1998, is coming down in summer 2003. Located on US Route 30, this is a must-see if you’re in the area. The place was huge! Since word of the mall’s imminent demise hit the street, people have taken to smashing the glass doors and windows. Some have been boarded over, but others keep getting smashed. Marvel at the 1960’s stylin’ exterior, the rodent-infested food court, the empty fountains, collapsing roof, rotten foundation, and assorted flotsom and jetsam contained within. I only got as far inside as Penney’s you might consider coming at night. Hitch a lamppost to your car’s bumper, paint messages on the walls, it’s all there to be destroyed!
Ditto for Richland Mall in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Who the hell thought Johnstown could support 2 malls? This one is still somewhat occupied, so vandalize early and often.
By the way, if you’re caught, just tell them you read about it on rotteneggs.com, and you will be absolved of all responsibility for your baffoonish actions! Just kidding come see, time is runnig out on these 2 unwanted buildings! |
