Alright, not sure how many people here play airsoft or paintball here, but decided to make this due to my personal experience with morons in the field.
First off, Gear.
Gear
Alright, this is actually a bigger issue than people make it out to be. Bring gear appropriate to the scenario. Don’t bring a damn sniper rifle to a CQB match, a Rifle to a woods scenario, Compacts to long distance, etc. It greatly effects the game. You cant hit somebody with a full-auto compact from 150 feet away.
Ammo. This applies to airsoft. Use .2’s or heavier. any less and you wont hit a damn thing.
Apparel. In CQB or Woods scenarios, wear something long-sleeved, getting hit in the forearm from 15 feet away doesn’t feel particularly good on bare skin. Oh, and dont forget this. GOGGLES. I shouldn’t have to explain these.
Wear clothes that let you carry extra magazines / tubes / air.
Tactics
First of all, common sense. Enough said.
Anyway, generally in CQB or woods scenarios, stay low with your chin tucked if you’re not in cover. I once had an experience, crossing a field, chin wasn’t tucked, got ambushed. Paintball straight to the windpipe. Learn from my stupidity.
When you know someones up ahead, have a buddy lay down some suppressing fire so you can move up to a better position. (Incase you don’t know, suppressing fire is where you continually fire multiple rounds at someone, even when you probably cant land a hit, forcing them to stay down.)
Dont just run up the main pathway. People expect that. You’ll usually get lit up like a Christmas tree. Go around, and either go around behind, or set up a ambush point. If possible, form a bottleneck (where they have no choice but to go to one spot, like a funnel.)
Communicate. This is easily one of the most important, but most overlooked aspects. If you see your buddy shooting, ask him where the guy is, and you can get a better position to take him out.
Dont cheat. Just dont.
