Collecting video games is not as simple as it sounds. But it can be very rewarding if they are kept in good or new condition.
Cartriges from the famicom(nes) and super famicom(snes) have to have their contacts cleaned once every nine days to ensure no dirt and carbon buildup makes the game malfunction during play. This can damage cartriges and must not be played in this state. To clean them a cue tip soaked with ispori alchol is all that’s needed. To fully restore and clean a cartridge that’s damaged by cigarate smoke or pop stains, you first have to dissamble the cartridge. The screws are either hex or trinagle heads. While cleaning the cover with industural grade solvent or alchol depending on how bad the grime is, do not get the label wet or the electronic circut board. When dry, reassemble and test the cartrige. Some cartriges in good or mint condition can be worth big bucks. The last video game convenction I went to a good condition Metroid nes cartridge auctioned off for 250 dollars! If it had the box and instructions it would have been worth fiftey more! Here is a list of games I know are worth something in one way or another:

gradius
life force
salamander
gradius 2 (rare)
gradius 3
paradous
gojucu paradous
sexy paradous (japaneese and rated x!)
paradous da (japaneese)
metroid
metroid 2
nemisis (game boy and british)
nemisis (british version of gradius) nes
