Abdul Kassem Ismael, Grand Vizier of Persia in the tenth century, carried his library with him wherever he went. The 117,000 volumes were carried by 400 camels which were trained to walk in alphabetical order.

One lady had her husband’s ashes made into an egg timer so that even in death he can still "help" in the kitchen.

Reno, Nevada is west of Los Angeles, California.

The sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." uses every letter in the alphabet. (Developed by Western Union to Test telex/twx communications)

In 1992, Frank Perkins of Los Angeles made an attempt on the world flagpole-sitting record. Suffering from the flu he came down eight hours short of the 400 day record, his sponsor had gone bust, his girlfriend had left him and his phone and electricity had been cut off.

In the 1940s, the FCC assigned television’s Channel 1 to Mobile Services (two-way radios in taxicabs, for instance) but did not re-number the other channel assignments. That’s why your TV set has channels 2 and up, but no channel 1.

In every episode of Seinfeld there is a Superman somewhere.

Two animal rights protesters were protesting at the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn. Suddenly the pigs, all two thousand of them, escaped through a broken fence and stampeded, trampling the two helpless protesters to death.

The Mint issued two-cent and three-cent coins during the latter 1800s.

Haha, stupid ass animal rights protesters. I do not mind killing animals as long as it is for a legitimate reason, such as food. But if you kill them for fun, you can rot in hell.

Speaking of random, visit RaNdOm StuFf.
It’s a place just to talk about anything thats on your mind, any random stuff. Just go and check it out, and join up. It’s just getting off the ground just now, but allready seems like a promising forum. Also, we would be grateful of any egg points you could spare to donate to the group, to go towards making it a better place! Thanks everyone!
