 | Mar 09, 2005 1:51 pm - Ok..... here we go... So, due to an abundance of questions I shall cover all the answers in this post.... First off... the contents of this book... This is not another anarchists cook book people, this book is specifically devoted to pyro’ing... that means WE WILL NOT be teaching how to pick locks, grow pot, or the like...... this book is specifically devoted to having good information on explosives and fire.... I think you get the idea now.... as for publishing.... I am looking into having this actually published as a real book.... However if that fall through it will be just an online book/website..... now allot of you have just been posting links to eggs... please I implore you, if you are going to use an egg please take the time to copy and paste it... not just put a link..... take it, re-write it... and post it.... but remember that only final detailed tuts go into the contents forum... and please make sure when you do a final post please give credit where credit is due.... now if you have any more questions or comments please post them in the questions and comments forum.... I would like to keep the main page open for important announcements.... Thank you. |

 | Mar 10, 2005 7:30 pm - In case you are wondering... In case you are wondering... thuogh i siad i was apointing no more mods at this time... i did make ruthless and runtman mods as they are the ones that actualy started this project so they deserve the possitions.... anyways... lets get on it people... ive been doing research into actualy getting this published but i cant put it together and publish it if i dont have anything to work with!!!... cmon lets get on it... spread the words... make some tuts.... we will be remembered for this!!! |

 | Mar 10, 2005 7:44 pm - For anyone that is new... If you have not as of yet causght onto what is going on here, please post in the questions & commentes forum. there is no shame in asking how you can help... thank you for your time and effort... |

 | Mar 21, 2005 12:50 pm - Updates Ok, first off if any of you have been trying to post in the Content items forum you have been finding that you can’t. the reason for this is that the people that did post in there was posting crap that had horrible English not even worthy of a immigrations pamphlet. No offence to you guys but you really have to make this sound good. Make sure all the grammar is correct, spelling, and also make sure if you’re using one of your own eggs or someone else’s make sure you convert it so it sounds like its for the book. There are a lot of little references to things on this site, that if they get in the book the readers will be like ’what the hell does that mean!?’. So please. From now on make sure that everything sounds good, and from now on once you have a final draft submit it to me or one of the other mods for inspection. if all the standards are met we will post it in the CI forum. If you need to get a hold of me, or send me a final draft my email is: Lethmoor@gmail.com. And please guys we need more activity here. We need to get on this so I can start getting some pages done. I can’t make a final layout until I have a few to go by. Anyways, please spared the word and make some tuts.
Thank you for your time. |

 | Mar 22, 2005 11:49 am - Oooops... Well, i jsut realized that after the group colapse from before, the origonal index got taken down. this was our guide for everything. not having this may explain the confusion we have been having in getting everything orgonaized. i will now repost it here on the main page and in the CI forum.
Sorry bout’ that. |

 | Ma 22, 2005 2:54 pm - Example... In a Moment i shall post a example of what a submission for a final draft tut should look like. |

 | Mar 22, 2005 3:28 pm - Thermite... Author: Colby ’lethmoor’ Garrett (your name/tag)
Original content: Colby ’lethmoor’ Garrett (where you got it from first)
Section: #3 ’The Essentials’
Thermi e:
Materials:
Any desired amount of Ferric Oxide (Iron Oxide)
Any desired amount of Fin aluminum flakes (at least 94% pure)
Magnesium ribbon (this is your fuse so judge your length)
Heat source (a Stove top if preferable)
A Cast iron Skillet or Pot
First off, some of you might be wondering "what the heck is thermite!?". Thermite is basically a mixture of two very simple materials, Ferric Oxide (a.k.a Iron oxide or rust. yes, common rust.), and some aluminum shavings. The products combined form a very volatile heat source, that when lit, can melt through just about anything. That is with the exception of tungsten, but unless you plan on burning a hole through the space shuttle or some wiring in a furnace or something like that you’re not going to have any problems with that. now I’ve heard that the perfect mixture of this stuff can vaporize carbon steel... I haven’t had the chance to test it on carbon steel yet. Basically this is a powder that when lit will melt through about anything you want. Most of its applications are in working with metal and I have heard that some fire depts. use it for training.
Now to the process of making this awesome little fiery friend. First your going to need Ferric oxide (iron oxide)... this you can order of Ebay (search for iron oxide, or ferric oxide) I have found a big ol’ 1kg jar of Ferric oxide for about $20. Do not try to go out to that old Junker car in your back yard and scrape some off the muffler, rust that comes from those sorts of things often contain impurities. So now that you have your iron oxide your going to need some aluminum shavings or filling you will want as small as flakes as possible but you do not want it to be a powder, your aluminum has to be at least 94% pure (a aluminum bar or rod from a hardware store is usually the best route, just shave it down). Now for later your going to need a magnesium ribbon, this you can also get off of ebay or a science store... *side note: the Ferric oxide and the magnesium ribbon will almost always be available in you school science department, ask your favorite teacher.* The measurements for this batch is 8 grams iron oxide to 3 grams aluminum. Of course you can increase the batch size if you wish. Take your cast iron pot and place it on the stove, turn the heat on the stove up to about medium high. Pour in your Ferric oxide in and heat it up till it’s a nice red color. Sometimes when you buy your ferric oxide it might be red already. That means it has been purified. You still must heat it though. Then mix in your aluminum. Keep this on the fire for about 30 seconds then remove and stick it some where to cool. Putting it on a cookie sheet works nicely. After this is done you might want to make sure and stir it a bit to make sure that the powders stay evenly distributed. Thermite can be stored just about anywhere. Keep it in a box under your bed, a can out in the garage that’s filled with mounds of useless junk, or in a jar marked salt and pepper in your spice cabinet. Well, don’t do that last one.
Now I’m sure your all like “Get to the point I want to know how to light this stuff, and what its going to do!!!” Ok so we’ll use this example (as this was how I heard it for the first time). So, take a 50 cent piece size pile of this stuff and set it on the hood of your worst enemy’s car. Now to light it. Take the magnesium ribbon I mentioned earlier and cut about an inch of it off and stick it in the pile of thermite. Try to rest the ribbon on top and not actually submerge it in the thermite. Now you’re most likely going to have to light the ribbon with a propane torch or a butane lighter. This is going to melt right on through the car and into the cement. Yeah, you’re going to have to replace the engine and replace or weld the axle back together. Also if you need to form the thrmite around something, say a pole. What you can do is this. Mix 1 Part modeling clay to 4 parts thermite. Make sure it is very well mixed. You now have thermite putty! |

 | Mar 22, 2005 3:34 pm - example... Notice that the proper credit for sources is given at the top, a clear list of materials needed is added. All spelling and grammar is understandable. There is no excess cussing. And there is a good explanation of what it is and what it does, as well as how to make it. Please use this as a model for your own submissions. |
| Mar 23, 2005 8:07 pm - i will bet money that this book will take like ten years to make. |

 | Mar 24, 2005 2:17 am - 100 bucks it will never bee made.. maybe a internet version... but i don’t think it will be a published book. |

 | Mar 24, 2005 6:55 am - It may not be a book, but we’re gonna make it an internet one. |

 | Mar 24, 2005 1:52 pm - Oh Come on! Jeez you guys! with attitudes like that no its not going to get done! Come lets pick it up a bit! and yes, there is a 68% i will acctulay get this published (dont ask me where that percentage came from)! Come on lets pic it up, get some things posted, write some finals and submit them! |

 | Mar 29, 2005 10:11 am - May Point about about the ACB thing, you can use it’s info, as long as you’ve tested it first. THat’s important. |

 | Mar 30, 2005 7:14 am - If this is made into an internet book, if all goes to plan and the finished product is as good as what ive seen of the draft. I think if is was published it would make somewhat of a profit. |

 | Mar 30, 2005 5:16 pm - The point! And THAT is the point. Were this a crappy internet book i would not be so critical that the submissions be well written and accurate. However with the prospect that we might gain some capital through this pushes me to make sure that it is considered accurate and well written. This is also why I have asked to submit your contact info. if not to the public to me at least so that when it does get published you may get your fair but of the profit, and knowing that people like big fiery dangerous things this will most likely sell well. So please, let’s all get to work, I know a lot of you already have been working, but all lets up it a little, get some stuff done. Anyways get a hold of me if you want to submit or if you have some questions.

 | Apr 16, 2005 4:09 pm - srry i havnt been here in a while and id like to know if the the book is still going as planned. also is there a draft of the book out there?? if there waz id like to see it. |

 | Apr 26, 2005 6:34 pm - chemical equvelency list i was thinking we all should make a huge chemical equivelency list. like we could take info from lots of sites and put it on one list and we could all add our own ideas also. it would say the chemical name, househeld name, brand, store, uses, compositions for that chemical, and a picture for it if possible |

 | May 12, 2005 7:09 pm - worlds biggest chemical equivelency list i made it into a group hers the link
http://rotteneggs.com/r /show/se/64979.html if the book ever happens we can put it in it |

 | Jun 10, 2005 8:39 pm - i love the symbol, im gonna try to photoshop it somehow because it loks kickass and im bored. I think that I’ll eventually write something on either magnesium , or AL powder |
