I don’t know if anyone else has done this but there it goes.
Dig a hole that is at least 6 feet deep and 4 feet in diameter.
Make or buy a liner that will hold water or restrict the loss of water into the soil.
Put one of those circular yellow sprinklers at the bottom and connect it to a hose which will connect to a faucet.
Hide the hose if possible.
When the hose, sprinkler and liner are installed, turn the water on a little and refill the hole with dirt that has no rocks or large chunks and do not pat the dirt down until it is soaket with water.
When the hole is filled with dirt, turn the tap on full and wait until the area is completely wet and is somewhat over flowing.
-if you used a water tight liner:
turn the water down until the water is no longer overflowing but the mud is still liquid and has good suction.
-if you used a liner that restricts water:
turn the water down until the ground is just like the above note.
Rip p some grass and cover the spot with it until it does not look noticible .Do not use the grass that you may have removed for the roots and crap will act like a mat and the whole thing will not work.
If it all works, someone walks in to the quicksand and will get stuck and might need help out but if you get stuck in your own trap, remember this...
