I have explained several ways of setting up a situation where you can pick a pocket, and so here I will explain the actual mechanics of lifting a wallet.
The first thing you must remember is that a pocket, no matter how tight or lose, it meant to carry things until they are removed. This means that the pocketis not its owner’s ally. Anything put in a pocket can be taken back out.
Except in rare situations you will not stick your hand in your mark’s pocket, such as jacket pockets or very baggy pants, so get that image out of your head. If you try to be Oliver Twist youa re gonna get caught.
Here are four methods to use for removing a wallet from your mark’s pocket. They do not differ if your target is a man or woman so long as the wallet is in their back pocket.
1: Obviously the easist pocket to pick is one that has the walet sticking out over the lip. The wallet’s owner has done msot of the work here for you. What you need to do is simply grip the tip of the wallet with your index and thumb or middle finger and gently lift the wallet out. In most cases it won’t mater if the pocket is tight or lose, because the walelt will slide out of the pocket so fast the mark barely has a chance to notice.
2:Use the linning of the pocket. The inside of the pocket is deffinately NOT its owner’s friend. Once you are in position behind your mark gently grip the sides of their wallet holding pocket and begin to make a serries of tiny plets in the linning, which will pull the pocket down and push the wallet up. After the wallet has reached a certain point grip it with your other hand and slide it out. You need to practise this one so that you can do it smoothly and quickly. This works best on tight pockets.
3: With either your knee or middle finger, find the base of the mark’s pocket and quickly push up. Using a bump or a slight push, this will allow you to force the wallet up so that you can grip the tip and lift it up. This method works on lose pockets and baggy jeans.
4: When all else fails just cut the pocket open from behind with a razor or a box cutter, carefully consealed in your hand. Either slit the side of the pocket, or the bottom, and quickly catch the wallet as it falls.
Nov 19, 2005 8:58 pm - My main question about the mechanics of lifting a wallet from a back pocket, is when you say, "simply grip the tip of the wallet with your index and thumb or middle finger", do you mean grab it from frnt and back, r from the two corners of the wallet (as in left and right)?
Apr 03, 2006 8:00 pm - yo everyone who reads this and wants to start pickin pockets search anything related and anything under grandmastathief is all pro shit he knows what hes talking about i studied his stuff and went into my school first day in made 127 and change thank you sir u are the masta the bump and lift works all too well in my crowded school of about 2,000 rich prepy boys carrying around 50’s in half ripped pockets as it is because its "in style" meanwhile they are payin for my bud that i’m gonna smoke with my buddies over the weekend
