This first one enspired me to make this egg.
First off you will need a 2pence piece, or a large coin of some sort.
1. Take the coin, drill a small hole though it very close to the edge. Then tie a bit of string to the hole, then tie a loop on the other end of the string (anyhow will do, not too big though). Now find a very tall building (it works best being about 50+ floors), go up about 50+ floors and find a window, then simply drop the coin aiming for the side walk! (you may want to drop several, since you could ’miss’ the first few times). Now go back down to the ground floor to see what damage has been caused!
Results, you will hopefully find several coins imbeded in the side walk, if your extra lucky one or two bloodened bodies as well.
2. You will need to find a vise for this one. Get your coin and place it in the vise, so the edges of the coin are held by the vise. Now tighten the vise forcefully (I saw this done years ago at school).
Results, the coin should shoot off from the vise unexpectadly and bounce around for a bit(so be carefull), its good for a laugh.
3. Go to the side walk and super glue the coin to the floor, it will piss tramps off quite a lot. And everytime you walk past the coin, you can laugh at the fools who keep trying to pick it up and persist even when they cant move it.
4. While walking by that annoying nerd that you hates house, you could throw the coin at a window. With the edge of the coin it should quite easily crack the window if thrown hard enough. Why you could even make games out of it with your mates ’who can cause the most damage in one shot’ or ’who can crack a window the most concecutive days running’ and my favourite ’who can hit the house owner as he runs out in protest first’
May 09, 2005 9:57 am - You’ve obviously never tried this, because a coin will never embed itself in the sidewalk by dropping it fron a window. You obviouisly dont watch Mythbusters; they fired a coin from a RIFLE, and all it did was chip the conrete a bit. A coins terminal velocity due to gravity is nowhere near the speed of it being fired from a rifle.

It would have to be a small coin to start with, and fired useing a CO2 gun and then it probably wouldnt work that well, the coin would spin in the barrel dremastically increasing the frictional force, it would also increase the wind resistance once left the barrel. My idea was to get a large coin to fall sideways reducing the friction to almost zero. 2 pence piece having weight of 0.00713Kg will have an acceleration of 1402.5 Metres/Second2 falling from a hight of 250Metres (50 floors). To translate, its 3136 mile per hour2 (acceleration not taking into account of drag) Do the math, by the time it hits the ground it could be traveling up to a speed of 487 miles per hour, in reality it could never happen due to terminal velocity. To put it simple, it would be traveling much faster than fired out of a ruddy rifle (if you follow the steps on keeping the coin falling sideways) Kiss ma ass boyscotty
May 09, 2005 5:02 pm - they put something around the muzzle to fire a penny, the terminal velocity was 62.4mph i do beleive. if the 2 pence weighs more than a penny it could have a higher velocity.theres one thing everone keeps forgeting MASS stupid it needs to have MASS to do damage dumbass
May 09, 2005 5:19 pm - If someone stood in front of you and threw a coin so it flew swiftly through the air and hit you square on the forehead, you would certainly know about it and it would bruise. A 2 pence coin or any big coin from 50+ floors up could quite possibly brake your skull, surely!
Ok, sod the bloody coin, just take a f#cking bowling ball up to the 50th floor and drop that. In fact, why not a dozen. Problem solved!!!

Jun 14, 2005 1:48 pm - Muffy, your such a dick, if you read the egg it tells you how to increase the terminal velocity of the coin! I dont know the terminal verlocity of something thats only the size of 2mill. Just remember everything accelerates down with a force of 10 Newtons, what prevents acceleration is air resistance due to an objects shape. So by getting the coin to fall being on its side, you must surely know your reducing its resistance quite drematically. PRICK
Jun 16, 2005 8:33 pm - i am not a prick, watch mythbusters about the penny. in the show they fired it at the ground and at a ballistics gel covered skull(they fired it on the thin side) both times it bounced off, the skull was barely touched and it chiped the ashphalt, i didn’t mean to come off as a prick but i know i’m right and i hate when peoplethink they’re right and are wrong. seriously watch the show or download it.
Jun 17, 2005 1:39 pm - We had that discution about the episode of myth-busters earlier. there is no way you will ever be able ot fire a coin out of a gun to even display the kind of force involved from a coin falling from great hight (a coin designed to fall sideways to reduce its frictional force as much as possable. The moment it leaves the gun the coin is spining unlike in my design, this will dremastically increase the coins friction force slowing it down)
Do I need to go out and do this to see if it works, or at least show the coin would be traveling faster than out of a gun! I made this for some laughs too, you were not meant to take it that seriously.
Jun 24, 2005 1:37 am - what happened on myth busters to fire the penny they made an aluminum box that fit around the barrel with a tiny slit for the penny and then loaded it with a blank round, seriously download it and i think it did spin a bit but it had a lot of velocity and brokr the skull but still bounced of the pavement(although the penny was quite warped) i think you were thinking that they fired it with the penny on the broadside which wouldn’t have worked.
Jun 25, 2005 5:52 am - I have already had an insite into the myth busters on this. You have provided me with a better understanding of how it was done. I still dont think it would be more powerfull dropping a coin from up high than out of a gun. The coin from the gun is not under any control over how it is laying when it travels appart from the moment it exits the gun, do you see the flaw. Im suggesting to tie a small string to one side of the coin to fix how it travels the whole time - side ways! Either way, it might not imbed into the pavement, but cant you simply laugh at the near impossible. I dont even think a bullet would imbed itself into the pavement, but just imagin it doing so! (now you laugh I bet)
