Well, it’s been built for some time now, I just
haven’t gotten around to posting it yet...
I got some hella sweet deals from Fry’s Electronics, so all in all, it only cost around $900.
Specs:
CPU: Pentium D 930 (3.0 GHz, 2MB Cache [per core])
Mobo: Gigabyte GA8I945PLG
Hard Disk: Seagate 300GB SATA/300
Memory: 2 Gigs Power Quotient International (PQI), Dual Channel interleaved
Optical: Memorex Dual-layer x16 DVD Burner
Case: iOne SA-1 (Black Aluminum with a blue VFD and Blue side-panel led strips.
OS: Windows XP home
Monitor: HYUNDAI Imagequest N71S, 17" LCD 8ms response. Never heard of the brand, but it has a phemonimal picture.
Video Card: 3DFX Nvidea GeForce 6200 LE, not that great, but it runs.
My camera’s having issues, so bare with me...
Case: I originally bought that case for $99.99, then it went on sale for 59.99, so I took it back and got a refund of $40. Now it’s $49.99
VFD:
Whole thing:
Monitor:
I plan on asking for a new graphics card for christmas, another hard drive, and new mouse & keyboard.
So far it’s been great, no major problems or crashes. It plays my games flawlessly, even at full resolution.
Also, before any of you AMD fanboys come and flame me for going Intel I have something to say. I like AMD, but I also like Intel, and Intels were being sold for incredible amounts less.

Quote: i hope you dont plan on gaming with that.
dual cores arent good fro games.
they dont run them right.
It’s worked perfectly so far. It runs them a lot faster than my friends P4, which is also clocked at 3 GHz.

Quote: I firt had a duel core x64 4200+ and it lagged very badly on games.
For someone who spells and uses grammar as badly as they do, I wouldn’t trust thier review. Games are yet to be designed to take advantage of dual core processors, but that’s not to say they would have a problem with gaming.

Filthy, a response to that "review"
Quote: Are you saying that a single core CPU is better for gaming than a dual core CPU at the same clock speed?! Are you saying that you dual core CPUs are somehow handicapped when it comes to gaming?! Maybe what you’re trying to say is "If you don’t get a dual core CPU, you can afford to get a single core CPU with a higher clock speed." Even so - gimme a break. The GPU factors in much more heavily when it comes to gaming and being able to relegate system tasks to another processor can only help. I have an X2 4200 and an Opteron 170, both of which are dual core, and neither of which has lagged in a game.
