Yesterday, At the Worldwide developers conference, (WWDC) Steve Jobs (Chief executive of apple) announced the new abilities of the new "leopard" mac PROs.

These new macs will have twice the speed of the former range, (Power Mac) and hold space for 4 hard-drives. This is the fastest mac ever, running up to 3GHz.

The new macs will have various new features including something called the Time Machine.
This is basicly a back up system that runs constantly as you use the computer, and enables you to recover your machines data, deleted and corrupted files back. you may also recover the computer back to a specific point in time.

these new machines wont be out until next spring, but they sound pretty swish to me.
hopefully at some point ill move of my imac onto bigger and better things.

just a little info for you there.

And you’ve been able to for a while, macs suck, plain and simple.

Example 1
Example 2 (funny as fuck and completely true

Macs suck ball, they always have, and they always will.

ive never owned a windows machine so i wouldnt know.
however if we are talking like that, windows long delayed (and awaited) ’Vista’ which will be released to users after christmas sometime actually contains "new" features for windows that macintosh have had for years. *grins widely*

monkey pillow.
that guy in the video is talking utter bullshit. i have never experienced any of that stuff in 8 years of mac useage. if any of those things are true, they apply to the old macs, about 6 or 7 years out of date.
the part he says about shutting down, its bullshit. he talks about a "clover key" correct me if im wrong, but i dont think the clover key ever even existed on one of the old keyboards.

also you say that example 2 is completely true. If you have ever used a mac once in your life and any of those things have happened frequently, i would be very suprised.

Wow, you are one ignorant piece of shit.I don’t really care what some idiots (that probably Bill Gates hired)who flap their huge lips about how Macs suck this and that.I don’t even know who the fuck they are. They could be just spreading propaganda because Microsoft pays them well.Have you ever fully owned a modern macintosh computer? I’m guessing not because then you would know that they crash at least half as rarely as PCs, virtually no viruses were created for Macs as of yet and their OS is much easier to use then Windows. So, in conclusion,I suggest you test out both of the systems before being an ignorant shit about it.

No, I have used them at school for video work, and friends houses because they are Apple fanboys. I will admit, the Mac is great for a certain niche of society, I just don’t happen to fall into that category.

To be honest, I’ve never had a Mac or a PC crash on me.

There’s probably a direct correlation between that fact, and that fact that only a miniscule amount of computer owners use a Mac.

That’s much more of an opinion than a fact. While I agree with you to a certain extent (OSX is more functional with it’s included components than XP), The fact holds true that Windows is much more widely accepted by developers. And, to me, being able to add and customize my OS to a seemingly endless amount is much more appealing than being able to create a Podcast the minute I get back from the Apple store.

I’m sorry, but, that just happened to be the way God made me.

And how would that classify you? A windows fanboy?

If you say a Mac never crashed on you, then why are you supporting the fact that Macs crash almost all the time (which is completely false)?

Yeah, that’s an opinion. And so are these:

Only my opinion is actually based on factual information.

That is because too many people hate change. They will not switch to other systems other than Windows based solely on the fact that they are used to operating Windows.Even if the competing OS is better.

I don’t have a problem with you prefering Windows over Mac.I just don’t like it when people start bullshit about something they never expirienced in person.

Oh yeah and monkeypillow,I missed this one:

Again going back to the fact that too many people hate abandoning their ways (even if the new way is better).

It’ll do. I actually like the Mac and it’s user friendliness, but until it gains wider support, I just can’t see myself owning a Mac as my sole machine. I also favor many Linux distrobutions to windows, but then again, the market support factor comes into play. I actually do believe that the Apple OS is a lot easier to use, and that certain Linux distro’s are lighter and more powerful than Windows. But, Microsoft has a stronghold on the industry, and that means (for the time being, anyway) more widespread support. Until the Apple architecture becomes more widely accepted as a serious contender, I can’t easily switch knowing that many of my applications won’t be available to me.

I’m not supporting this assumtion so much as I find this video to be humorous.

True. That was not one of my finest retorts. Just because I prefer a different machine, doesn’t neccesarily mean one is superior over the other.

Yeah, but my only fear (I use the term lightly) is that with the current vice Microsoft hasa on the consumer market, will Mac’s ever be able to compete.

And I respect the fact that you don’t try to force your Macintosh ways on me. My friend, on the other hand, is what I would call a Mac prophet. Every single time I use his Mac, he’s leaning over my shoulder, waiting with comments such as "Can you do that on a PC?", when he knows good and well I’m too accustomed to the PC to abandon it completely.

PS. Earlier in this thread, I may have sounded a bit harsh. Today, I started taking adderall again after stopping cold turkey for the summer, and anyone who remembers starting the stuff, knows it’s tweaks you a bit. Aside from being affected by artificial stimulants behavior-wise, the drug also downplays my body’s need for food. A half hour or so ago, I realized I hadn’t eaten anything in the past 10 hours, and if anyone has experienced the same, you know there is a signature stomach ache that ensues, where relief seems out of reach.
