i was wondering, my friend from archery went over to sweden for the world archery championships (i was gonna go but didnt quite get the right score) but he got himself an airsoft BB gun for about 7 bucks and he wants to bring it home. do any of you have any smugerling tips because the fine for getting cought importing airsoft guns is a fine up to 250,000 dollars or 10 years on jail or both. thats just what i read from here. http://www.customs.gov.au/webdata/resources/files/airsoft1.pdf

iv\’e never done it myself, but ive heard you just have to de-assemble the gun and spread the parts to various parts of the bag;
iv\’e learnt from watching the show \"border security\", that the xray macines arnt as great as they\’re cracked up to be. some guy brought a flick knife over the border and they only found it when they were searching his bag for drugs

See if you no anyone who works in any of the places that can overlook it for you..Or tell him to dismental it and send it as different packages like say 5 different packages with 5 diferent pieces or tell him just loeave it course its not worth smuggling a bbgun that cost 7 bucks and getting caught and paying 250,000 and 10 years jail where you could just buy a standard handgun for $350 : )

StJimmy, go hit up footscray/victoria market...aslong as you dont really care on the lack of quality(and i mean LACK OF QUALITY) or looks....and there is one sure fire way to be able to have bb guns in Australia, this is sadly of course with a group a gun license, soo if anyone has that then your able to be in possesion of bb guns, paintball guns...even a .22:o

but yeah, dont risk bringing it back, especially with the upgraded security measures at airports nowadays it just aint worth the trouble....

i brought a knife in queensland and brought it back to victoria and i didnt get caught

(knives are not legal with out a licence in VIC cuz some fool rushed cops with a katana LOL)

but overseas is hard i mean i brought thumb cuffs and i had to throw them out cuz i could hurt people with them and take over the plane LOL

in plain and simple words

DONT RISK IT !!!
