When I turned it on for the first time I got a cool little intro with some sexy music then I get lens error.
Fuck ebay, I’m saving up and gonna go buy one from a fucking store now.

Might be still cheaper to get it fixed, or see of there’s a help forum at the cameras website. Maybe it’s a common thing for that model and there might be a fix for it.
Or better yet maybe it’s a common problem and it’s covered under the MFG’s warranty.
You never know till you check, THAT won’t cost you nuthin’ but time.

I did check Viper, 150 dollars to fix it.
I paid 70 for it.
Looked on a ton of help forums and turns out the whole coolpix brand is just pure shit.

DONT GET RID OF IT.
This has happened to me also.
Just mess with the mechinism(sp?)that comes out of the camera because it is off-center. On mine it just snaps back into place.

Woot! Fuckin right! I shoved my knife down in there and tried moving some stuff around, I turned it back on and bam out comes the lens.
