Well dangit, ive got a laptop, and ahve been using our neighbors connection. It only works in my parents room though. So, I finally gfot off my lazy ass, hooked up our Linksys Wirle WRT54G Broadband router (Wireless G). It was a success. When i used the neighbors connection, it said connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found. Yet, I still got on the internet fine. While using the connection off our router, iven when I ahd 100% signal quality, and strength, it said connected to acces point, but the internet cannot be found, but this time, I couldnt get on the internet?What should I do to fix this?I know weve got some smart people on RE, so could you hook me up with sme uber knowledge i no u guyz have?

*BTW, this is srs, i threw the last part in as a joke. Oh, and the comp im trying to get on the internet is a laptop.

Looks like they turned their WEP encryption on.
You need four different keys to be able to use their internet again.

no, you see, their security is disabled, im trying to use OUR connection, the one we have setup at our house. Ive heard to remove the WEP, but i dun no how.

OMO: wireless is a bitch to setup and get perfect.
It took three months to get my laptop working perfectly.

idk, i used my neighbors connection, everything worked fine. I think I need to disable the WEP, but I dont know how (my house connection has a WEP key enabled, i dunno how to disable it)

i used to use my neighbours internet, then set up wireless and like pentium said its a pain in the arse, ive got it set up now, the router is about 5 metres away through a wall and sometimes i get crap connection.

Use the Network Wizzard to connect to your already existing network, that might help.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/Communications/
Try the stuff in there.
It’s not really my forte’ I’m sure others will fine tune what I’ve just said.
