I just acquired XP Pro and installed it, but now when I try to connect to the internet it wont allow it. It didn’t auto install my Ethernet Controller and I tried to manually install it and it still didn’t work.

What operating system did your computer previously have?
When you got the computer did it have a Cd with all the drivers on it?

I use to have XP Home. And yeah I’m guessing the CD did have the drivers. When I try to install it manually it says "This wizard could not find the software..."

So when you TRY to connect to the internet the
"found new hardware" dialog comes up?
Have you tried the locate driver files (which is the advanced option) then putting in your DRIVER CD, then change the path to search the cd?

Lawl, this is embarassing but it’s an eMachines, all I replaced was the power supply case and added some more RAM. Well the scanning the CD worked it came up with 3 different drives, can i install all 3 or is there a certain one I need to install?
