You might have to reformat your computer.

I have no idea though.

Wait for AE or another computer savy person to post.

hmm strange i had that problem once i mean i tried to edit my information on my start button and when i restarted my desktop and toolbar was gone lol simple way to fix it when you cant see ur desktop and toolbar press ctrl alt delete and then file then run then type in "control panel" then you should be able to see the control panel hopefully then click "performance and maintenence" then on the left u should see "system restore" under "see also" click on that and restore your computer to the last known data/time this should bring back your desktop and toolbar and other functions then your problem with the invisable desktop and that and try and find info on how to remove the virus lol i am not sure about that but this should get ur desktop back

cheers

ending a process only affects what the computer is doing now - when the computer’s restarted it will be ok

Trojan Remover is designed to automatically remove malware (trojans, worms, adware, spyware, etc.) from a PC when standard anti-virus software has either failed to detect the malware or is unable to effectively eliminate it. It can also detect and disable/remove malware hidden using rootkit techniques.
The majority of Virus and Trojan scanners are well able to detect malicious files but are not very efficient in removing them if they have already been triggered. Trojan Remover can detect and remove malware without the user having to manually edit system files, including the Windows Registry, and all without using SAFE mode.
Trojan Remover was written specifically to carry out such a removal without the user having to manually edit system files, including the Registry. The program also removes the additional system modifications some Trojans carry out which are ignored by other Virus and Trojan Scanners.

Trojan Remover will also routinely check for any loading Windows Services which have been hidden from normal scrutiny using Rootkit techniques.

New malware files are found daily. Many of the newer trojans, worms (and some Spyware) use rootkit techniques to hide their presence. This means that the files are not visible on the system. Trojan Remover uses specially designed routines to automatically detect files hidden in this way, and alerts the user of their presence. These files can be disabled and/or completely removed.

Trojan Remover records information to a logfile each time a new Scan is activated. This logfile contains detailed information on which system areas were checked, which programs/files are loaded at boot time and what (if any) actions were taken. The logfile is viewable from the Main Menu and can provide valuable system information.

Trojan Remover has been written for Windows 98/Millennium/XP/Server 2003. It has been successfully used by Windows 2000 users, although this platform has not been officially tested.

Changes in Version 6.5.4 :
- Added new heuristic detection routines for PE386-style rootkits.
- Added an option to show extended file information in the logfile. The logfile is now displayed in its own Notepad window; this makes it easier to copy information from it.
- Modifed the Running Processes Scan. This scan now runs at the end of the main scan instead of at the start. Alerts will be shown on any malicious processes detected.

hahaha, Explorer.exe is the Windows desktop. And iexploere.exe is internet explorer (go ahead and delete that). Go to another computer and go to c:\\windows\\ and copy explorer.exe to the same path on your computer and then get some sort of "virus" protection. Although i don’t think that this is a virus (stupidity) a virus could of bound its self to the explorer shell and deleted the real explorer.exe

Hahaha! The explorer.exe is NOT a virus, it is basicly Windows, the background start bar ect. Restart it. DO NOT close exporer.exe. It’s fine, you haven’t got a virus.

You might have ended explorer.exe. Open the task manager, click new task, and type explorer.exe.
