Sure, it is a lame excuse but whatever.
For the longest time I only had a scanner, I never owned a digital camera until September of 2005 and from there I fell in love with cameras.
The reason we tend not to believe the member is because they are new, but saying you have a broken camera is an alright excuse, or the camera you have is not in your hands at the moment.
But it is better for them just to say "I dont own a camera"

My first eggs with pictures i had to film it with my video camera then up load the video then take screenshots on WMM so there are other ways of getting pictures you need you can even use paint.

I used the excuse in my first egg. Al-though to be honest with ya, my camera really is broken. It has been for about a year now. I don’t even know what the fuck happened to it. I think i lost it when i moved. And i just don’t have the income to by me a new one. I plan on getting one though.
