My friend sent me this screenshot of her desktop asking me if I knew how to get rid of the grey box on the side. With the folder tasks options and shit.
Apparently I cant figure it out? Even though I know its something easy. If I was there I probably could.
Anyone know how to get it off the desktop?

right click the taskbar, then "properties", then check the "show quick launch" box

I dont use that shit haha. I use Msn Messenger 7.5, but its her computer so she can do what she wants. Thats not the problem though Jimmy:P

Its still there Filthy. that just gets rid of the IE symbol, Desktop and Email on the bottom left of the desktop.

Its the same box thats in folders. Folder tasks, other places, details...

o i see, go to tools then go down to folder options and then where it say task, click on the button where it says ’ use windows classic folders’ and then apply

Didnt work on the desktop. Just changed the look of folders insides.

I cant understand Hardforums, I just checked it out. It has the most confusing layout Ive ever seen. I cant even find a way to make new topics, or the proper area to do it in.

That registry modifier thing didnt work ghost. It said there was no need for repair or something.
