Im trying to make a network in my house, especially since I got one of those free Fon wireless routers. I had no trouble hooking that one up, but im having trouble with a wired router I borrowed from a friend.
I plug in all the cables and everything, and get the two green and one orange light, on all three ports, but it doesnt work, and im thinking that maybe I need software or something to install on the computers. Seriously, I have no clue, ive been just plugging and unplugging ethernet cables when I want to or my family wants to use the internet. If it helps, the router is a Linksys BEFSR41 v.2.

I had this same problem. The router would work when you turned it on and off a few times, or unplugged it and turned it back on. I just ended up calling the phone company, and they came and put in a whole new router and its worked fine since. I asked them what the matter with it was, but they never went into detail. This is probably a wasteful post...You might try calling them though.

I have a Linksys too... It quits on me when we have power outages... Won’t reinitialize. Turn off all the computers, then unplug the power from the router for about 20 seconds. Then plug it back in. The lites will flash for a while. Wait about 5 minutes. Then turn on the computers.

Well good luck finding support in the philippians because they are probebly eating their family pet dog. I wish they would eat my miniature snouscher becouse that bitch (litterally) never shuts up. Oh and no idea about the router problem. My brother set up our network.

Well Dodge, its not that the internet doesnt work, its that username/password part that kills me. I get a 100.0mbps connection, and when I try to load up a page, I get a "Connect Direct Connection" window. Im thinking about just saving up some money and buy a new router. Im getting sick and fucking tired of unplugging and plugging in ethernet cables to use the internet on mine or the family computer.
