I just thinking of an idea.
I wonder if I can use a cigerrate to burn a hole through a REALLY thin glass vase.
Would it break or would nothing happen?
Cause I don’t have a torch, just some lighters and matches and shit.
Respond ASAP

Depends. If it is ungodly thin, like a fiber optic glass wire, it MIGHT. But still even in that situation it probably wont. If it is a very VERY thin sheet of glass, like you said, then the most that will happen is the glass getting burn marks or shattering.

this is what he said:

a vase that thin that it would melt, would shatter by it self

No it wouldnt work. Regardless of the thickness of the glass. It still has the same melting/ burning point.

Soldering iron wont do shit except shatter it. I was actually just using a MAPP gas blow torch like 2 minutes ago just to see what i could use to compare with a ciggarette heat source, and...well....it took pretty long to even get the glass red, and even then, it wasnt glowing much. Thermite or a blast furnace is your best bet. or an arc welder.

maybe with a soldering, but it would probably just break the glass

A morning glory sparkler might. The ones with the small thin cardboard tube, covered with red, yellow and blue paper. When it has the forceful red flame, then it will melt. But when it crackles and shit, it wont melt. That flame is nearly 2500-3000F.

you have to use a blow torch at low flame(VERY low) and poke through with an icepick or something.
heat it up reallllllly slowly too.

Hot glass?
Anywho, a torch-lighter MAY be able to do it. When I have people over, we usually melt the empty bottles in the fire. Mind you the steel caps must be thrown away separetly, otherwise you’ll be pickin’ the shit out the next day.

Here’s something of interest:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Rupert’s_Drops
It’s hard to get the hang of dripping them properly without them shattering, but it’s worth it when you get it right.
