I’m leaving for UNCW (University of North Carolina at Wilmington) in about a month (big change since I live in Albany, NY as of right now) and I have to go shopping for dorm room stuff that I need. The dorms have a dresser, a bed, and a closet, with two desks. There’s two room mates in a dorm, and two dorms share a living room space. Can anyone who’s in college/been to college give me some ideas of what I should get?

A coffee machine for when you work late into the night, a mini fridge so when you get hungry you don’t have to walk to the cafeteria or you can store snacks in there, a laptop for your projects, reports, and other assignments, along with a decent printer. You might also want to get a book light so if you need to do a reading assignment, but couldn’t finish it, you don’t keep your roommate up all night.

I’m not in college yet, but
I would get some granola bars, and food things that don’t go bad easily. Also the stuff that Ace mentioned would be a good idea.

Make sure you get a good roomate, it’s really hard to change them throughout the year. lower levels are better to live on as well. rooms in the corner are usually bigger too.

stock up on pop tarts and ramen noodles, those are good college eatings, its what i survive on and its cheap. prolly wont help you since you from NY, but i got a thing like a coffee pot but its designed to make sweet tea, which we country boys love....

stereo is a must, tv, dvd player, maybe a game system, laptop, or a nice ass desktop, mini fridge, maybe a bat (if it is a bad campus), and a nice roommate.
