No a project would be too conspicous(sp). Just say that you have a family get-together and a friend borrowed your camera and you badly want to take some pictures.

You want to test a design you have created for an under water camera and you don’t want to mess any good ones up. I’ve seen two videos of homemade underwater cameras if you need posts. One uses a clear condom and the other uses a military ammo box.

I might be wrong, but I think I read/heard/watched something that said the bodies of the cameras are sent back to Kodak or Fuji Film or whoever made the camera to be remanufactured into new cameras. I don’t know if that would include the circuitry, but I sort of assume it does.

I’ve got hundreds... I know someone who works at CVS...
A lot of places actually throw them out. Check the dumpster... All the cameras will be in one bag, with very little (if any) trash mixed in... When I would get them, each bag would have about 150-200 cameras, and about 90% are flash cams...
Check drug stores dumpsters too...

I’ve heard about people dumpster diving for them behind Walgreens. Usually they’re after the battery inside. I imagine you could put standard film in them and use them again. Have you tried that, Dodge?

I can’t reuse them. The way they work is the film is in the camera, either unwound, or in an odd canister, and it’s fed into the regular canister as you take pics. You’d have to reload it in a darkroom, and figure out how to get the film to reload into the can... I haven’t actually tried it, but I’ve thought about it... Too much effort. Besides, the circuit’s too much fun! ;-)

Feeithepain78, I’ve made some eggs using the flash circuit from disposable cameras... And there’s quite a few in the egg directory...
The circuit produces high voltage.

Bleah, what a waste of perfectly good film.

Actually, before I got my kids digital cams, I was trying to figure out how to reuse them... Kids beat the crap out of cameras. Now they got $20 digital, and I threatened them with certain death if they loose or break them. With the disposables, I didn’t care... Other than the fact each one was $7... a cheap roll of 35mm film is a couple bucks... (Yeah, I’m cheap!)

(*Stun gun) More than likely. Hopefully he doesn’t make an egg about that. That’s overdone.
