Has anybody ever made one of these? They’re cool as hell, and if you know a little about circuitry, it isn’t hard to make them more powerful. All you have to do is add a couple more capacitors to the circuit, really. I’m working on one with 4 capacitors now, which is enough to at least make somebody back the fuck up.
There’s other ways you can make them too, as opposed to the way in this video, which is generally an easier way, but you can’t really modify it’s power output much.

If you can get the load to oscillate at 16hz, then yes. A 555 timer could do it, but then you have to consider in the charge time for the cap, which would probably be longer that 16 hz.

Yeah lol i have one, i did the one were you put wires to the flashs tube thing,
And if the wires touch it makes a blue bang.
Pretty nice, it can ignite methylated spirits :)

One thing you can do to get it to charge quicker is use Ni-Cad or NiMH rechargeable batteries. They dump more power quicker than alkalines.

First time I made one, i picked it up, and my arm like, immediately dropped the camera. Was pretty weird feeling, kinda like an orgasm in my arm.
