This was an old topic, but it wasent very good so....
It was on some shocking UK documentery, where they show shocking things in every day life. Eg..gun violence, Mcdonalds.
And in one episode they where revealing shocking things about violent video games.
A black kid in London killed his mate with a claw hammer. People blamed the fact that the kid played Manhunt.
And a very similer thing happened in southen USA in wich two brothers nicked theyre dads Semi-automatic rifle and sat by the road. They shot 3 people in two indvidual cars. One of the men in the cars died.
People blamed the fact that the brothers played Vice city.
I say blaming the games is utter bullshit.
But what do you think?

Renforcing my opinion that its bullshit.
1.I once had a very similer expereance with someone on the site.
Once my dad didn’t relise what the time was and I was on my comuter playing a game in wich your a burglar who runs into peoples homes and kills everyone.
I played it for 4 hours straight to the point that I fell asleep for a few seconds and was woken up by a SFX and went to bed. Yet you dont see me one the news blowing up the mall with a fertilizer bomb!
2.Up until quite recently when America caught up, the majoritie of these games came from Japan.
And they have the lowest gun-related death rate on Earth!

heh, i agree with ti being bullshit, ii play violent vdeo gamnes alll the time and i dont want to kill people in violent bloody ways more than i did before i played these games. people who act on things they see in games are WEAK I TELL YE! WEAK! they need to be ’cleansed’......erm..nevermind..forget that bit >_>

I think its all the parents fault.
Part of parents jobs are to make sure their children know whats right and whats wrong. They also have the option of not allowing certain things in the household like violent videogames. If your child gets a hold of Vice City and you dont like it, TAKE IT AWAY! Simple as that! Who cares if the kid complains and whines that it doesnt get the gore it wants. Who puts a roof over its head, clothes on its back and food at the table? Sure as hell isnt that snot nosed 13 year old with 2430857634987 iPods, X-Box 360 and a prototype PS3 sitting in his bedroom all wired up to a 56 inch plasma screen.
Parents need to monitor their kids and realize that the ESB ratings really mean something other than a black and white patch at the bottom of the cd case. Ok? 13 and up. That means he’s probably playing Rachet And Clank. 17 and up. Most likely playing The Suffering or Resident Evil. AO, Adults Only.
He’s probably playing Orgasm Girl on Newgrounds.com.

Some people normally dont go out on random and shoot somebody. They’re fueled with anger and hate.
Remember Columbine? Yeah, those kids were victims of assholes who wander around the hallways lifting weights on the highschool football team and other people who blast TuPac out of their shitty Cutlass Supremes. They were sick of people giving them shit, and most likely a bit racist since they targeted a black kid over a white one. Since everyone fucked with them entirely way to much, they blew up and shot down innocent people over something the beloved quarterback did last year. Get over it! If those people werent assholes, maybe they wouldnt have decided to ruin trench coats and pull guns on the entire school.
I have been playing first person shooter games ever since the original Doom came out. Never once in my life have i ever plotted shooting up a school to get revenge on the one idiot who called me a faggot and never have my parents worried about my behavior. I grew up on those games, and sure i like to see people OVER THE INTERNET explode by a rocket i shot.
It has nothing to do with the games. People who make the games are not intentionally making them to recruit goth kids to go assault schools. They’re making them because they’re fun and it makes funny websites.
If you dont want your kids to be exposed to such material, take it away from them.
If your kid is too much of an impressionable idiot to know the difference between what it sees on a computer screen and what else it sees standing right before them, then just strangle it to death.
