I am planning on building one from the ground up because my computer right now seems to be at the point of needing massive upgrades, and I figure why not just start over, take some of the good stuff from this one and make a new one?
My computer right now is a HP Pavilion a320n
Specs:
Original Stuff
2.08 GHz AMD Athalon XP Processor
512 mb DDR SDRAM
120 Gig Hard Drive
250 Watt Power Supply
The only non original thing
I upgraded my video card from a NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX to a NVIDIA GeForce 6200 FX (I believe that was what it was)
I also recieved a speaker system from my Grandma for my birthday or something. They were Creative Inspire T2900, they worked Ok for a while until they decided that they were going to drastically change the volume without me touching it... Got sick of that real quick, so I put the old ones back on and used headphones.
Yes I know it sucks, but that is why I just wanna start over from the ground up. Why spend so much money to upgrade this one when I could just make a new one for a little bit more money, but exactly how I want it to be.
Haha another little tidbit - Of that 120 Gig hardrive I only got 106 Gigs because of formatting, and of that 106 Gigs, I have 5 left.

Dual Core processor, almost any graphics card that has a separate power supply, 2-3 gigs or ram, and high end sound card with speakers and sub and at LEAST 2 hard drives.

If you want to mod your computer out all the way and make it look awesome, get one of these. If I had the money for a new tower and upgrades, id DEFINITELY get one of these
