A little background on myself, I am 14, with Attention Deficit Disorder(No Hyperactivity). I recently have had problems with friends and at school. I am pretty sure my parents think I am crazy. The say I have a ton of anxiety (I have some) and they are starting to talk to doctors. My normal doctor even was considering Prozac (An anti-depressent for my "anxiety") My parents even contacted the Childrens Hospital Of Philidelphia’s Behavioral Unit for "Testing". Am I going to end up in a Phsych ward? Has anybody here been to a Phsyc Ward? Is it really bad?

Childrens hospital is all over the US. They are basically the best hospitals in the country for people under 18. Has any body been in a Phsyc ward?

Psych wards are horrible, they make you want to kill yourself. You’ll never come back the same, you lose all emotions because of the electro-shock therapy and chances are your parents are going to disown you for it

If you’re in the U.S. then you have little to worry about. First of all, if you don’t have insurance, psych care is very expensive so I doubt your family will be willing to pay for it for very long. If you do have insurance, they will almost ensure that you don’t stay for more than 72 hours because they sure the fuck aren’t going to pay for it. If you have medicare/medicaid you won’t spend any time there period.
There are people who are in serious need of psychiatric treatment who are living on the street so unless you’ve got a diagnoses greater than just ADHD, you’ve got nothing to worry about.
