I dun’t like the air. I feel like i’m going to break it by typing. No optical drive too, but you can sync with other computers using 802.11n wireless so its not a big deal. It’s fast, and does everything a laptop is supose to do. Just really thin and frail looking.

yea no optical drive is annoying and i guess it would feel fragile but its made from aluminum and the pricetag is really high maybe i should just get a macbook but the multi-touch trackpad is really cool

It’s not nicknamed "MacInTrash" for nothing.

It’s a useless device based on looks, you can get a real laptop that isn’t a "MacInTrash" as Gimp said for half the price

the only reason i would ever get a macbook would be to put linux on it, put an ubuntu sticker right over the apple on the cover, and have people watch me pull out my nixbook

PROTIP: Macs run crippled BSD. BSD=real unix.

I know a lot of die-hard Mac fans. While it is more expensive and doesn’t have as many compatible programs, pretty much everything written for it works without fail. Because not as many people use them, they don’t have as much of a virus risk (although that is changing). Graphic Artists most especially like them because they are pretty much designed and configured for optimal graphical performance. They have their place but I would rather struggle with Windoze.

Unless it’s the new Macbook Toch prototype which I might consider getting when it’s released because Macbooks are the ONLY Mac products I like, I don’t care.

Quote: they don’t have as much of a virus risk That’s because PC has more users and thus making it more likely to get a virus, Mac is an underdog with less users thus less people bother with viruses for it

She clarified that when she said:

Im quite fond of macs (even though I own a pc) for the fact they run great with graphic design programs and also with DAW’s (digital audio workstation).
Im saving up to get a mac because im doing a audio technician course and the programs run better on macs.. some programs like Logic are mac only too.
