By kill pain I mean, make completely senseless, numb as all hell.

if your gona do a self peircing, which it seems.
get a cold damp flannel, and put ice in it, crush the ice up inside it. hold that over the area till it starts to get real numb (make it so cold it hurts if you can), if the ice becomes shitty, replace it and continue.
I peirced my lip this way, didnt actually feel a thing :).
