Anyone else play? If so what style do you play? Do you play for real cash? If so what is your typical buy in? Any good poker stories you want to share?
I usually play with a couple buddies every week or so. We play Texas Hold’em with a $5 buy in.
My best night of poker was after work one night there was 5 of us playing, and it wasn’t a great night for me. We were going to cash out but we only had a $20 bill and a $5 bill (I forget exactly how we managed that, but it was a hassle). Now when I say I wasn’t having a great night I mean I was down to MAYBE 50c in chips. So I jokingly suggested one hand, winner take all. Since it was late and cash out was going to be a bitch, the other guys agreed. We delt the cards and flipped the flop, the turn, and the river, and lo and behold, I had a flush. Well one of the other guys had a straight, another had a low pair, and the other two had nothing. We didn’t know if straight beat flush (can you blame us? It gets kind of confusing...), so we looked it up, and the kid with the straight was crushed. I might add that we hated playing with the kid and the next day we all made fun of the fact that he was so upset about losing.

10 or 20 dollar buy in.
2 buy in limit.

We don’t play with buy in limits. That way when we have the time we can keep it going if someone ends up losing everything. It also makes winning more fun because it’s more money.
Another good night of poker I had was when I was visiting Ireland with a whole tour group. The chaperones were in the hotel bar and we were bored so we started up a game of "strip" poker (I say it in quotes because we were in the lobby of the hotel playing). Instead of actually stripping we just wrote down what everyone owned, to be collected later. Well, I was really on and I ended up winning a whole bunch, including everything one guy brought with him on the trip. Passport, money, clothes, everything. I even had the rights to his hotel room, his and his roomates beds, the TV.
I gave it all back in the end though. The only thing I really wanted out of my winnings was one of the girls clothes and the lap dance she bet.

Sometimes a few of my friends will get together and play some texas hold’em. Its a 20$ buy in and 1 5$ re-buy...
