I’m replacing the internal batteries in my old Gold/Silver generation Pokémon games.

...Pokémon Red didn’t have an internal battery....
The batteries were in Gold and Silver to run the in-game clock.

Not even close, considering my name has been posted on this site in it’s entirety numerous times, once by weasel in a bulletin, you fail. Miserably.

Positive, the R/B generation games had no use for a battery, and mine still work like the day I got them, which was around 10 years ago.
Damn, you got me.

I don’t mean the clock that tells you how long you’ve been playing, that runs off the Gameboy’s battery. Gold and Silver had the day/night feature, and an actual clock that told you the time. In order for this to run when the cartridge was not in the Gameboy, the game itself needed a battery.
