my wireless antenna only has a range of 1000’ is there any way to increase the range of it?

I remember a little while ago someone talking about how to. Something about using one of those 99¢ Arizona ice tea cans to extend the range.

......ICE TEA! hooahh!! there is not really much you can do to extend your WIFI range, exept maybe buy a bigger antenna, like DaDevil said

1000 feet ain’t that impressive, my phone can pick up signals up to 5 miles from the nearest transmitter and 1 mile for 3G.
still good for WI-FI though
