I’m just curious....are the people that have their 360’s hooked up with all the fancy cables and HD tv’s getting less FPS than people using standard tv’s?

Because like a pc, it wont have to pump out all the 1080HD res shit so it will result in less lag (their barely is any anways but still...)

and as a note:
their is a option to change the 360 from high deff, to standard res in the menu (just for people would would say "it wouldnt know if its going to a high res cuz the cables cant tell, so the 360 cant").

The TV has nothing to do with it.

Your Frames Per Second count all depends on the GPU of whatever youre running (pc, Xbox, lamecube, Wii, PS3, etc.).

You can run a PS3 (or whatever has a better GPU) on a CRT screen and then run it on a Plasma and youd get the same framerate (after you let the system cool down between tests, of course).

I know that, im saying, sinse the GPU/CPU has to put out a 1080res it will use more juice and lagg more than it putting out standard fps.

but I think if you use the standard cables, and hook into a standard tv, and set the 360’s output to "standard tv" then it will have more room to power the games physics/engine, that focus on the high res.

Power has nothing to do with it.

It all has to do with graphic memory and RAM (though consoles nowadays have ridiculously low amounts of RAM; the PS3 only has 64mb from what I heard).

Trust me, the PSU on consoles is more than enough to power a graphics engine, run everything else, and put out a little more for that 1080.

Either way, I dont see what everyone sees in "HDTV". I like my 32" CRT just fine.

NOOOOOOO you got me all wrong lol, let me explain the whole thing better:

ok, lets say your a FPS whore and you always want the best FPS, to give you better advantage.

so.....the xbox 360...you can change the setting on the xbox 360 from "high definition" to "standard tv" in the menu (givin you have to right cables). when you have the 360 set to "high deff" and have it hooked up to a high deff, and the 360 is putting out a very high res detailed visuals it’s video card and ram are probobly getting strained more than using "standard tv" becuase it wouldnt have to pump out those high deff grafix. thus more fps.

get it? is that how the 360 works? cuz I want max fps and i think if i use my standard tv, i would get max fps.

(not that the 360’s fps on high deff are bad, but that 1 fps could safe ur life in a gunfight.)

sorry if this makes no sence.

Higher resolutions will drop the FPS, but it’s still well above 30

Well, lemme see here. I can run my madden NFL 2008 on 1080p, and it’s at 60 fps. On standard t.v it runs the same.

yea, but their might be one in a million chance that on high deff you loose a fps during massive fight, and standard you dont, and that 1fps makes you win.
