I told my parents one day that the bible was just made by some tripped out people who didnt know what mescaline or peyote was (and I still believe that to this day), and they just wrote some tripped out shit about burning bushes, the world being flooded for 40 days while a bunch of animals just chilled on a huge boat, jewish zombies rising from the dead, kids being born from wedlock, talking snakes, some omnipotent being who lives in the sky making a chick out of a dude’s rib, someone surviving not eating for 40 days and living to tell about it, and other various weird shit.
Thats one of my theories. The other is that religion is just something that comforted people to explain what couldnt be rationally explained at the time. Science & technology is the new religion.

I agree with Mr.Bungle. The government uses religion to control us I believe.They program us with the belief that if you don’t believe in a god something is wrong with you. Like we absolutely HAVE to believe in a god or something.

I can’t tell if that was sarcastic, or if you’re dumb.
On a more related note, I believe as Bungle said earlier, that religion was used to comfort people and make sense of things that they did not understand. People would be better off without it I believe, no more killing in name of the god you think is correct. People like that girl would be treated because their family would realize praying to nothing does not help anyone.
