I wanted to start BMX biking, but i have no idea where I want to start.
There are some trails/skateparks near me and I have a few friends who ride, but I don’t know what type of bike i should get.
Any recommendations on companies for beginners?

Well my friend started out with a next(lol) then he got a haro backtrail(even though youre not really supposed to use it for hardcore skatepark BMX).
I’d say haro and hoffman are good names in BMX, just be prepared to eat conrete/dirt because you will.

Overall it depends how much you’re willing to spend. A few good brands are (in no specific order)

Hoffman
DK
Fit
Eastern
Stolen
Verde
Premium
&
Kink
FMF bikes are ok too.

Whatever you decide on if you’re getting a custom set up or not don’t get single wall rims if you’re looking to get serious on jumps and stuff they won’t last you a month get at least double wall, and if you have the money triple wall.

Also make sure to get the strongest handlebars you can afford, because they take most of the beating and absorb alot of the shock from landing. Also make sure to have a reliable chain wheel.

That should be enough info to get you started, if you want to know more down the road just message me.

Sputnic is a pretty good company, I know this dude at the local skatepark thats sponsored by them.
They’re pretty small right now though...

I’m currently riding a 2005 eastern metalhead, it was my second bike, and was about 500 and its still not too beat up ( I ride street ). Your best bet is to avoid companies like Hoffman, as every experience I’ve had with one, was poor weight, and they don’t last long ( I fix bikes). Go to a park and ask to try peoples bikes, and see if you like the way they handle, don’t ride them on ramps though. How tall are you?

I’m about 5 foot 6 inches (I’m 14, 15 in June)
I’m thinking about getting a subrosa salvador.
Its $240 and pretty good for its price

It’s either that, or the Kink Whip which my friend really wants me to get, hes an amazing biker.
Here’s the link to that one:

Yes, subrosa makes great bikes.
Maybe a Kink Transition.
The whip will be good to start on.

What were you going to ride? (street, dirt etc.)

Okay, so trails and park.
You’ll need pegs for park, just run them on whatever side you grind on.
As for breaks thats your choice, I’d suggest not running brake less seeing as you re just learning.
Personally I just run a linear cable but if you prefer a gyro go for it.
