I think thats what its called. Whenever you use a wireless connection to connect to someone elses shit. But heres the problem.

Ok, i had a wireless router hooked to my parents CPU downstairs. I could pick up that and my neighbors too. My parents decided to be dicks and get rid of the internet. I figured it would be fine cause i should still be able to connect through my neighbors router. I had done it before and it worked fine. BUT once they turned ours of i cant get a connectio to theirs. I dont understand why it wont link up to it. It sucks cause now i cant use the net at my house and i have to get on at my girls house all the time. Any advice would be awesome....advice thats works would be even awesomer...

Download that live CD and burn the .iso, then boot your computer with the disc in the drive. For a full tutorial, search airocrack-ng on youtube, and watch the linux demos. If your neighbour’s encryption is WEP, it’ll be quick (not necessarily easy, but once you figure it out, it’ll go fast.). If it’s WPA, it’ll be slow, and harder to do. I’ve personally cracked WEP using this method.
Just so you know, RE isn’t the best place to look for this info, there’s not a lot of real hackers on here. Even I am not that knowledgeable, though I’m smarter than the average bear.

Are you sure it was your neighbors? Sometimes a wireless router has two signals (example, a wireless A and a wireless G signal).

I was suggesting that maybe it was your signal, not theirs. Your router could have been sending out two wifi signals that your wifi card could use.

Take your wireless router and set it up as a signal repeater closer to the neighbor’s house.

You’ll have to go somewhere else to learn how though, I have no clue about networking.
