This one was rather tricky. I had to count out the lightning, and then count the delay on my camera. It took me three tries. It was monsoon season in AZ and it was pouring rain, thundering, high winds made the rain painful, and lightning illuminated the sky. I was dancing in the rain.. good times.
This one was accidental when I was being lame, bored, and taking pictures of myself.
This one I was bored- on the road.

This one sucks but I like it. I held my camera up to one of those $.25 telescope things at the space needle to take it.

Sadly, I lost the password for that flickr account, I’ll have to make a new one once I take something worth posting.

I see potential in your shots, TB (well, just the mountain shot, tbh), but you should read up on the theory of photography if you want to ave well-crafted shots. Try The Joy of Digital Photography by Jeff Wignall. It should be available at your local library. [/infomercial]

Well, the photography class at my school sucks. There’s too much of an emphasis on theory, and the stuff they teach and the way they teach it, from what I’ve seen, is particularly dry. That’s not to say that there’s no going out and actually taking pictures, no, there’s lots of that, but the stuff I’ve seen from that class is shoddy, uninspired, and badly composed. I’m glad I didn’t get into that course when I tried (I hadn’t yet taken an art course), because it would be a rather large waste of time.
That said, if your Photography class is good at your school (ask some friends who are actually into photography), go for it.

TDD, those are really just snapshots. They’re not carefully composed (note the bush visible in the foreground of the second to last shot, the winter one. It gets in the way and detracts from the image. The sunrise(set?) shot is rather cliche, with bulls-eye composition and nothing to really make the shot unique or interesting. The shot with the fog and trees looks decent I guess, but there’s no real focal point, and the image is more or less boring.
I don’t want to start a fight here, but I’ve never liked you. I sighed when I saw you had posted in this thread. But, I must give you the same advice I gave TB, to check out that book. It may make you a better (read: good) photographer.
