HERE’S THE REAL ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION:
(Well, there are two:
If God created the earth and all the species that are still hanging around, then the CHICKEN had to have come first. If the EGG came first, wtf, it can’t defend itself for shit. See my point (although argued in brief)?
If evolution does (and did) actually happen, then the EGG came first. Think about it. What is evolution? It happens after a series of mutations in the gene pool of a species takes place (very poor definition), leading to a new species. Let’s say that 4 million years ago there were birds that resembled the modern chicken’s DNA about 50% percent. Another 2 million years go by, and that species of birds evolved to resemble modern chickens about 75 percent. Then there comes the day when a particular mating pair of birds resembles the modern chicken about 99.9999999 (get the picture?) percent. When their DNA combines and mutates in that one instance, you have the very first modern chicken! Assuming that the other birds die out, the chicken will be allowed to reproduce because it has the more desirable traits. But the EGG had to have come BEFORE the CHICKEN.

The theory isn’t that we evolved from monkeys. It’s that we each evolved from a common ancestor.
Like Stoner said, mutations took place in the genes. Though in this case, there we two different mutations that continued in different directions, giving us humans and monkeys.

and bungle, there are still monkeys because we evolved from one kind of monkey that died out, the others didn’t evolve from humans
evidence for evolution from 1 primordial DNA strand:
96-99% of our genome is the same as a chimp
~30% of our genome is shared with daffodils
and a lot more...

If due to evoloution then the chicken would of came first. There is nothing saying that the first chicken that then evoloved into the chicken we have today came from a egg.

Lisk, if it didn’t come from an egg, then it isn’t the chicken we have today. Because the chickens we have today DO come from eggs, and if it didn’t come from an egg it wouldn’t be a chicken.

chickens dont lay eggs, its a conspiracy. they grow a smaller chicken that drags along the ground behind them. thats where the expression ’dragging a chicken along the ground behind us’ comes from.
though if by some freeak coincidence a chickens did lay eggs, the egg came first. the egg could have been layed by a different but similar bird, like an ostrich, whose baby was a mutant - the first chicken. the chicken then bred with another mutant ostich in the same way.

You dont understand what i mean. The first chicken may of gave birth to live young and not laid eggs. However due to evoloution over a peroid of time it may of changed. So the chicken would of come first.
